Frequently Asked Questions
What kinds of parties or events do you do? You name it! Almost any place where there are kids and/or adults who want to do something fun and different! Children's Birthday Parties, Family Parties / Picnics / Reunions, Holiday Parties, Grand Openings, Weddings, Baby Showers, Bridal Showers, Graduation / End of School Year Parties, Sporting Events, Community Outreaches, Church Functions, Scouting Events, Corporate Events, Fairs, Festivals, Car Shows and Fundraisers.
What do I need to supply? Absolutely NOTHING! I provide all of my own face paint and gear. I just need a small space to set up, with good lighting and cover from the sun on hot days or shelter from the wind and rain in bad weather, indoors or outdoors is fine.
What type of paints do you use? I use professional cosmetic grade face paints and glitters made especially for use on skin. I DO NOT use craft paints. My kit includes Paradise, TAG, Wolfe, FAB , DFX which all have been specially formulated for safe use on skin.
How long does each design take to paint? The amount of time it takes to paint each design varies greatly. Standard designs take anywhere from 4 - 8 minutes. The amount of time spent on a design depends on the intricacies and the size of the design and of course the child - wrigglers can take longer!
How many faces can you paint in an hour? This can be variable. As a guide, I suggest 10 faces an hour but this all depends on the level of detail you'd like in the face painting.
How far into the party should I have you begin? I like to arrive 15 minutes before guests arrive to set up and if it is a birthday party I paint the birthday child first. Also I do have a bit of gear to carry so arriving early means hopefully I can get a close park and not do a "workout" before I begin!
How long does the glitter tattoo last? Glitter tattoos can last up to a week if taken care of properly. They are waterproof and can be easily removed with baby oil or sunscreen.
Can you paint within the theme of my child's party? Absolutely! Just let me know the theme of the party when booking and I will make sure to have some ideas ready for the event.
How old does a child have to be to get their face painted at a face painting party? This really depends on the child, usually about 3 years old they are able to sit still long enough to get a small design on. If your child does not like their face to be touched we can always put something on a hand, leg, or arm.
What if my child objects? If a child is reluctant to have his or her face painted, I cannot comply with the wishes of the parent or carer over the desire of the child. Young children do not always understand face painting. A small design on the hand, which they can see, may be more enjoyable for them.
How do you clean your face painting gear? I carry baby wipes and hand sterilizer to keep everything clean and tidy. I use a new sponge for each client and brushes are sterilized and cleaned between parties. For everyone's safety, I will not face paint anyone who appears to have a skin condition or any form of illness - a good alternative might be a funky arm design.
Are The Paints Easy to Remove? Most of the face paint should wash off with just warm water or a baby wipe. However, some colours can occasionally be a little tougher to remove. For this I recommend, rubbing a little, baby oil/tear free shampoo and washing off. I generally recommend washing off before going to bed, as some colours can rub off and may leave a slight mark on the pillow case.
